He co-wrote Good Omens with Terry Pratchett about the end of the world. His work is a magical blend of mythology, humor and the darkness of the world. American Gods is his break out book into the mainstream, but he also wrote Stardust, Neverwhere which is one of my favorite stories, The award winning Graveyard Book, Coraline and so many other things. There are a lot of authors I might recommend, but He will always be at the top and his books appeal to young and old alike.<br />If you get a chance, you really should give him a read.
