I have had a bit of an issue getting my posts up lately. I've been good this week and hope that is a positive trend for the future, but December and early January were not the best for me to spend on my blog.
With that in mind, this is my Stacking the Shelves with everything I have received since not quite mid-December. I know it's a lot, but keep in mind three things. The list contains books I got for Christmas, books I purchased because I did not get them for Christmas and a lot of eBooks as a result of my ongoing clean-up efforts with my eBook samples on my iPad and the titles on my wish list. It seems to be a never-ending struggle.
Anyway, without further ado...my first STS of 2015. Drum roll please......

Great haul. I managed to snag some of the same free/kindle deals.
ReplyDeleteI love Kindle deals. The first day of the month is always so exciting and full of potential since they change the Monthly deals. The past couple of months I didn't find a lot, but January has ben a good month for Kindle deals for me.
DeleteWhat strikes me most about this post is the amount of wonderful covers. They say never judge a book by its cover but I must admit that I can be heavily influenced by how much I like'dislike a books cover.
ReplyDeleteI agree completely. Covers will pull me in. I'm kind of a visual person anyway. I surround myself with art and photos. I managed an art gallery for about 11 years. One of my responsibilities was to do custom frame jobs on the prints we had to sell. I always used lots of vibrant colors and cut shapes and designs into the matting.
DeleteThe visuals on a book are just as important to me. I tend not to buy books that have dull uninteresting covers, unless I'm already invested in the series or it is a really cheap or free book.
And while perhaps the content of the book may not be reflective of the quality of the cover on the book, I still strongly base my purchasing choices on the design and presentation of the book.
It has sometimes bitten me in the behind; gorgeous cover with content that doesn't live up to my expectation, but I'm willing to take that risk.
Awesome haul! Hope you're able to dive in soon, as I'm looking forward to hearing all about them! And well done on your recent posts. Glad you're finding time to post after a rough December/January! Love your posts!
ReplyDeleteI think this haul will take a while. Good thing I'm not buying too many books right now. Although I just can't resist a good Kindle deal.
