Hello, Blog - A Letter to My Blog





Dear, Blog –

Happy New Year!  How are you?  What have you been up to lately?  Seen any good movies?  Anything exciting happening?

I am fine.  I know it’s been a while and I feel really bad about that, but things have been a bit hectic.  I had planned to get in touch with you right after the New Year, but I didn’t have a lot of free time and then I caught a cold that’s been lingering.

I had Blogging New Year’s resolutions which I never wrote down, but as it turns out, I’ve broken every one of them already.

Maybe we can get together soon and, I don’t know, have lunch or sit around and talk books?  There’s some books I’m really looking forward to in 2015 and I’d really love to talk about them?  I promise I won’t be such a stranger.

 If you’re free, how about we get together tomorrow night?  I’ve missed talking to you and I hope to talk to you real soon.

  1. Love this post! And even though you've already broken them all, I'd still love to see your blogging resolutions!

    Sorry to hear you've been sick. I came down with the flu at the beginning of the year and it really did a number on me. Slowly getting back into the swing of things, but the cough is stubbornly hanging on.

    1. Well, let's see. Since I've broken them all, I haven't even deigned to remember them, but here are some of them. Blogging at least three times a week starting with January 1, following at least one new blog every week, spending at least 2 hours a week networking and commenting on other blogs, writing reviews during vacation on some of the books I read last year.

      Shall I go on? No, I shan't. It's too painful. I will simply cut the first three weeks of January from my blogging memory and start fresh.

      Maybe I'll write a new list, a belated list of resolutions if you will, with a start date of 02/01/15. Better late than never.

    2. Maybe start smaller and commit to posting something new once a week, plus one meme like Stacking the Shelves or Wednesday Wishlist?

      And how about spending 15-20 minutes a day visiting and commenting on blogs? I'm trying that and it seems manageable.

      As for catching up on reviews....well, I'm still struggling with that. I want to do mini-reviews, but don't seem able to stop talking once I get going. It's just so hard to start... :(

      I wrote my goals down on a page for easy review. Maybe if you put them in writing, that would help? Good luck!
