Book Description:
Publication Date: August 28, 2012 | Series: Nevermore
True love takes a twisted turn in the second book of this modern gothic romance trilogy channeling the dark brilliance of Edgar Allan Poe.
While Varen remains a prisoner in a perilous dream world where the terrifying stories of Edgar Allan Poe come to life, Isobel travels to Baltimore to confront the dark figure known throughout the world as the Poe Toaster. This man, the same man who once appeared to Isobel in her dreams and abandoned her in Varen’s nightmare world, holds the key to saving Varen.
But when Isobel discovers a way to return to this dream world, she finds herself swept up in a realm that not only holds remnants of Edgar Allan Poe’s presence, but has also now taken on the characteristics of Varen’s innermost self. It is a dark world of fear, terror, and anger.
When Isobel once more encounters Varen, she finds him changed. And now Isobel must face a new adversary—one who also happens to be her greatest love.
I have been waiting for this book for two years. Nevermore was probably my favorite book of 2010. The publication date has been pushed back a few times which has been frustrating. I actually pre-ordered this book back in December and have been antsy ever since to get my hands on it. It is probably my most anticipated book of 2012, but perhaps there is a tie with Tiger's Destiny by Colleen Houck which is due out next week.
From Amazon:
Book Description:
With three of the goddess Durga's quests behind them, only one prophecy now stands in the way of Kelsey, Ren, and Kishan breaking the tiger's curse. But the trio's greatest challenge awaits them: A life-endangering pursuit in search of Durga's final gift, the Rope of Fire, on the Andaman Islands in the Bay of Bengal.
It's a race against time--and the evil sorcerer Lokesh--in this eagerly anticipated fourth volume in the bestselling Tiger's Curse series, which pits good against evil, tests the bonds of love and loyalty, and finally reveals the tigers' true destinies once and for all.
A smart phone tag code on the back cover links readers to the series website.
The tiger's series has such great covers, huh? *-*
ReplyDeleteThe covers are what drew me to the books in the first place. Saw the first book at the book store and then Amazon had it for like 50% off andf I figured why not? I'll give it a try. Blew me away! Really can't wait for this one.
DeleteGreat picks! I know you've been waiting for Tiger's Destiny for awhile, but hadn't heard of Nevermore. Looking forward to your reviews once these finally come out!
ReplyDeleteI HAVE been waiting for Tiger's Destiny forever and I will finally be able to get a copy...with the ending. Thank you very much. Regarding Nevermore, though, I have been telling you about it for two years now. Poe, Goth guy, cheerleader chick, faerie court, Halloween. What more do you need? Except this book. Read it! I am re-reading it now so I will be ready for Enshadowed. That's right. I set aside the other 5 books I am currently reading to re-read this one. Yes. It is that good. I am already half way through it. Can't put it down and I already know what's going to happen!
DeleteYou've been telling me about Nevermore for two years? Not ringing a bell, but I'll take your word for it. Not a big Poe fan, but I do like the faerie court. And if it's good enough for you to re-read, guess I'll need to pick up a copy...
DeleteTigers Destiny is in a series right? Tiger's Curse is first right?
ReplyDeleteYou are correct, Sharrice. Tiger's Curse is the first book. It is an awesome series. Sorta Indiana Jonesish, but the quest is to break a curse not discover lost treasure. There are exotic locations, a villain hell bent on ruling the world, gods and goddesses coming to life, legends walking on earth, there's action, adventure, danger, death, betrayal, and love. I love these books! And I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a fantastical adventure yarn.
