Stacking the Shelves: A little bit of this and a little bit of that

Not every week can be a stinker and I don't hit the mother lode all that often. Most week's seem to be somewhere in the middle. This week for me has been a mish mosh, but I picked up some fun things.

Also, I went back to the storage facility. I believe the rest of the book boxes have now been found. I believe I was estimating about 15? I think it ended up being closer to 30. Now why, I have to ask the cosmos, do I have an entire book box full of old TV guides? Sure the covers are all cool; Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, X-Files, who knows what else, but why did I keep them? I guess I thought they'd be collectible one day. That box is still in storage, but it has been identified.

And why Paul Young? I found two boxes of old cassette tapes as well as cassingles, some of you must remember those.

But enough about what I found. I'll be posting more on the fun stuff I found, and embarrassing stuff, once I get through more of the boxes.

This is about what I got this week. Isn't it always? So without further delay...

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews.

Books I purchased from the local book store:

Wicked Jealous by Robin Palmer
Before I Wake by Rachel Vincent

15% off Barnes and Noble coupon and my husband was kind enough to pick up one of them for me.  They're both pink covers, so that was quite a sacrifice.
I just have to catch up on my Rachel Vincent books and pick up the prior book before I can get to this one.

EBooks I purchased:
Enchant me by Anne Violet (From Amazon: " Rumors. Magic. Secrets. Attraction.)
Taste by Kate Evangelista (It's like the manga Vampire Academy although without pictures.) - I picked this one up after reading a review from my blog roll.

Non-Books:

Sandman mini statue by Randy Bowen purchased off ebay
Glow in the dark lavendar Domo qee purchased from local comic book store

CDs purchased:

The Party's Over by the Smoking Popes
Rocket by Primitive Radio Gods

DVD Purchased:

Geek Charming from Disney - I don't really expect the movie to be all that great, but it is based on a  book my Robin Palmer of the same name.  I have read all her books except for Wicked Jealous, which just came out, so I thought I'd give the movie a try.

That's it for me this week.  What ended up on your shelves?

  1. I bought the first Soul Screamers a couple of weeks ago and hope to read it soon. Sandman statue, is that from Neil Gaiman's graphic novels? I've read all his books but his the illustrated ones - something to look forward to :)
    Happy reading

  2. Hi, Katja! Thanks for stopping by! And yes, the Sandman statue is from Neil Gaiman's award winning comic series. If you are a Gaiman fan, Sandman is a must read. But beware. It is addicting and there are a lot of spin offs of the world of the Endless.
I started reading the Soul Screamers, buthaven't gotten very far and now we're up to book 6. I've got a lot of catching up to do.

    1. It's unfortunate that I am a collector. There was a time when I collected what seemed like everything, which is why I find myself in the predicament I'm in now with so much stuff to get rid of.
Still, I can't completely swear off everything fun. I still like my toys.
      Enjoy your week!

  4. 30 boxes of books?! I would be so overwhelmed! Good luck sorting through all of it!

    1. To be fair, not all the boxes are mine. However, I still need to sort through them all to pull my books out. I need to figure out what I'm keeping and what I'm getting rid of. It's a little overwhelming and I don't feel motivated, but it's got to be done. You'd think I'd learn my lesson, though. It doesn't stop me from buying new books, now does it. That is the beauty of my kindle. I can actually see space wise how many books I've bought, so it's like I didn't really buy them at all.
      Thanks for stopping by!

  6. I am about half way through Taste. Am enjoying in, but I want to find out more about the Night students. My preliminary opinion is that it is good. It keeps me coming back while I'm also reading four other books. This is the one I'll probably finish first, so keep an eye out for my review!
May the mailman bring you many things this week!
